Book Signing & Events

In presenting the work of Drilling for Hope, Karen intends to inspire, educate and raise awareness of the clean water crisis around the world.

20121105_Kathmandu-368Karen’s work and her book, Drilling for Hope  are promoted through speaking and book signing engagements at universities, libraries, and book stores. See below for a list of events. Please be advised, some events are closed to the public.

March 8, 2014: The Book House Book signing of Drilling for Hope: One Woman’s Work to Provide Clean Water, and a presentation on Karen’s travels and efforts to improve the lives of people around the world with clean water.

March 4, 2014: Beverwyck Retirement Community By special invitation, a book signing and presentation. Karen will present photos of her humanitarian work around the world, and will be signing copies of her book for residents.

December 21, 2013: Village Booksmith, Hudson Falls book signing and slideshow presentation of Karen’s work around the world. Karen will read passages from her book and answer questions about the Drilling for Hope cause.

December 10, 2013: International School of Paris. Luncheon, presentation and book signing organized for the student and faculty of the International School of Paris, where Karen will be recognized for her service, and working hard to raise awareness & funds for her 2014 humanitarian endeavors.

November 13, 2013: Loudonville Book Club. This event is closed to the public. Drilling for Hope: One Woman’s Work to Provide Clean Water is the current read for a local book club, and Karen will be in attendance to sign books and join in the discussion with members moved by her stories.

November 3, 2013: Barnes & Noble, Colonie Center, Colonie, NYBook signing and discussion. Karen will be presenting and reading excerpts from her book as she talks about Drilling for Hope and her experiences traveling abroad to provide clean water (among other things) to people in need.  Barnes and Noble will have books on hand for sale

October 9, 2013Saratoga Springs Library, Saratoga Springs, NY. Karen talks about her humanitarian efforts in Africa and around the world. She will also be signing books; proceeds from the sale of which will go directly to the Drilling For Hope cause. This event begins at 7 pm, and is free and open to the public.

October 2, 2013: Northshire Bookstore, Saratoga Springs, NY.  Join Karen and supporters in an intimate book signing event. Proceeds from the sale of the book will go directly to Drilling For Hope. This event begins at 7 pm, and is free and open to the public.

September 25, 2013: Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY. Changing the World Through International Service.  Join Karen as she presents a slideshow and discusses her international service work and fundraising efforts. This event begins at 7 pm, and is free and open to the public.

September 18, 2013: Empire State College, Saratoga Springs, NY.  Academy for Life Long Learning, Empire State College Speaker Series.  Life After Retirement-Giving Back. If you would like to attend, please contact the Academy for Life Long Learning.

September 12, 2013: Retired Teachers Association, Johnstown Library, Johnstown, NY.  Karen (a retired teacher, herself) presents to members of the NYS Retired Teachers Association on her humanitarian efforts. This event is closed to the public.
