Thank you to everyone who attended the 6th annual fundraiser, and support Karen’s work year-round. This year, Karen was able to accomplish the following with your help:

In the South:

2 water systems in the Estuary Islands off the Southern coast of Ghana

  • On 1 Island with 350 villagers
  • On a 2nd Island with 350 villagers

In the North:

4 Wells

  • Shallow bore hole wells, using hand pumps

At 4 schools with 855 students

  • Goats

  • 1 deep bore hole at the Fistula Hospital
  • 3 hand dug to serve 700 villagers total and a health center
  • 1 spring fed that served 300 villagers

Two women’s groups in Mitaranda received

Your donations contributed to approximately 15 fistula operations at the CCBRT Hospital. Approximately 35 women who have been successfully operated on for fistula were able to return to their villages with sewing machines, material and the basics to start their own business


  • To every child in the two schools where wells are located


  • 100 pairs of “The Shoe That Grows” to children in the 6th and 7th grades and high-achieving children at a primary school where a well was funded


  • 4 sets of uniforms at the 2 well schools plus 2 other schools
  • Balls at the 2 well schools, plus other schools and in the villages
